Christmas Time is Here

Christmas time is finally here at St. Augustine School!

At St. Augustine school, we celebrate the meaning of Christmas in many ways.  Most importantly, Christmas is a time where we celebrate Jesus’s birth. At the beginning of each Advent week, during morning prayer, we have a special prayer service. During the service a student council representative lights the Advent candle on the Advent Wreath.

The school organizes a coat and toiletry drive to help those in need of warm clothing and other needed items. Students bring in coats, hats, gloves, scarfs and toiletries. This year we collected  389 coats, scarves and mittens and 1400 toiletry pieces.  The items were donated to Mary House.

We held two concerts to celebrate the Christmas season. The performances included singing, dancing, drama and a Nativity play by grade 2.  All classes have Christmas Parties and may watch a Christmas movie. A special treat for the whole school is the band “School House Orchestra” which comes to play Christmas songs.  We certainly have many meaningful activities and a lot of fun at St. Augustine school during the Christmas season.

On behalf of the 8th grade class, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
